To Be Determined: Grizzlies Blown Out by Rockets
If you wonder why there isn't a score up, it's actually because, as I write, there are like three minutes left in the game. The Houston Rockets dominated the Memphis Grizzlies tonight. Crushed. Destroyed. Obliterated. They literally took the soul from this young team and spat in it's face.
As to quote the always Grizzlies knowledgeable @HPbasketball:
The Grizzlies are going to drop to 1-8; getting beat by a team who's #1 option was the Lakers' #5 option.
The missing truth here is that the Grizzlies didn't just get beat. The Rockets just absolutely trampled all over their battered corpse. Check out The Dream Shake to hear more about what it feels like to win; check over the jump for some recap and the like.
Rockness Monster: Hasheem Thabeet, for not showing up. Seriously, the Grizzlies played this bad. Even for the guys with decent lines, they played terrible -- terrible. This might have been one of the worst efforts I've ever seen from a professional basketball team.
U-Turn: Well since the Grizzlies looked absolutely pathetic last night and they looked absolutely pathetic tonight too, I think I'm going to have to award this one to Marc Gasol. Despite facing a lineup that at times had nobody bigger than 6' 8" tall, Gasol managed to go 1-7, almost foul out, and be so useless that Steven Hunter was a pleasant surprise. In case you've never heard of Steven Hunter, you probably still already know that's a bad thing.
Bitter Lemon: Was there anything that wasn't a bitter lemon this game? How about nominating Marcus Williams for making the worst damn decisions of any backup point guard ever. Backup point guards are supposed to protect the ball and get the hell out of the way. Marcus Williams is doing his best "Stevie Franchise" impression. Even Steve Francis shouldn't be doing an Stevie Franchise impression at this point.
Oh, and the rest of the bench can't score and dribbles around like they're still in college. DeMarre Carroll is great for energy; shooting isn't energy, so stop doing that. I don't think Sam Young even knows he's a professional yet.
Sleeping With the Enemy: Don't feel like talking about this madness.

You bring up an intresting line
about Lakers and Memphis. Im going to take a quick assumption and say your number one guy on the team is Gay. (that line kind of made me chuckle a bit.) If put in someone elses team, he’d probably be their #1 or #2 guy. Put him in Houston, and Ariza would probably be benched; unless you plan to play Gay at PF or SG… Put him in Phoenix and he’d probably be around #3, but not by far. I mean Nash is their #1, then a broken down Amare.
Maybe I’ve seen a great thing in Gay (I was at 2 Memphis games before (1 of it just last week) and have seen what Gay can do. Truth be told, I wouldnt mind having him on my team. Btw, I don’t want to soun homophobic or anything, but are there alot of “Gay” Memphis jerseys worn around around Grizz’s stadium; or is most of it OJ/ Conley?

Well this touches on lots of topics, but...
First; Rudy Gay probably shouldn’t be a true number 1 guy on a winning team. I don’t think it could work. On a winning team he needs to be getting his points in a similar fashion to a guy like Andre Iguodala, who is a very similar player. That would also mean he’ll need to be more unselfish.
Anyhow. Most people have Mayo jerseys, but Gay jerseys aren’t uncommon.

Same goes for Ariza,
but 20 ppg? Really? I mean his defense is good and all, but coach Adlemen has to be a beast. Imagine what Gay would be like in Houston.
Btw, in Phili, Andre Iguodala is their #1 option. And he’s not really surrounded by much talent. Louis Williams has really stepped it up, but from a guy who averaged 39% from the field last season, I question how long his streak is going to last. Then theres Elton Brand who has completely fallen away from his Clippers form. I’ve actually remained thankful that Philis took him off our hands (yet still bitter for some reason.) Somehow… just somehow, on paper, Memphis looks more talented than Phili…
Btw, im actually a bit surprised your up. Isn’t it like a 4 hour difference from Memphis to Los Angeles?

Marcus Williams
What is your problem with this player??? Marcus had 1 turnover? He will improve when his confidence rises- which will come with playing time if he earns it. This team is talented enough to win- I hope they don’t give up on winning as quick as the fans and bloggers have!

Marcus Williams
Has played really, really bad. The offense immediately drops off from Conley to him, and it’s not like Conley is an All-Star. He is selfish and has too much confidence — like I said, a backup point guard needs to take care of the ball. A missed shot on a terrible attempt is just as bad as a turnover.
Anyways, I haven’t given up on them winning and I believe they’re talented enough to win. I wouldn’t be frustrated if I thought their roster was Kings bad. It’s not, but they’re losing like it is.

Marcus Williams
You make valid points, and he needs to work on his outside shot- but I disagree that he “has played really, really bad”, I think some of the offensive drop off is due to the substitutions when Marcus comes in and Conley goes out, but has shared the ball when on the floor. The AI signing has been a distraction to the team from the minute it happened and shown to be a mistake ( unless AI comes back a selfless team player). Sooner or later they will start winning-sooner if they play better team ball.

Legit.
There does need to be patience, but it’s a blogger’s job to be impatient.

marcus erectile dysfunction
i have never been a fan of this player and was furious at mention of his name. I don’t like many UCONN Players except Rudy Gay and Ray Allen. he wants to showcase his talents, but he doesn’t got any. and we knew this already. that’s why I was furious. I wont’ even watch games where he plays in them so thank god I went to Star Wars in Concert last night instead watching the Rockets farce
