Out of towner coming to see a game at FedEx
Hey guys,
Sorry if this should be a fanshot instead of fanpost...or if you're just plain annoyed by the nature of my post, but....
I am driving to Memphis with my girlfriend and we are going to see the Celtics vs. Grizzlies game on Saturday November 13. I was wondering if anybody knew of any decent, affordable hotels to stay at in the general area of the FedEx Forum? We went to a game a few years ago, but the hotel we stayed in was complete garbage.....I guess that's what $45 a night for a hotel will get you. Anyway, if anybody from the Memphis area had any suggestions or advice for me, I would greatly appreciate it.
Also, I guess Beale Street is probably the place to go for drinks after/before the game? Any bars or restaurants you could recommend? I'm not necessarily looking for anything touristy, just a good time.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help me out!

Last year I stayed at the Madison for my honeymoon and that was amazing plus the Grizzlies stay there so you might run into them. at least that was true last season. It’s not cheap though.
Maybe try Vista-Inn? could also try going near overton holiday or the hotels at the 240/Union intersection. The price of 2 min cab ride would be less than staying downtown. Also if you stay around overton there is the street car trolley.
Check out Alfred’s after the game and Ernestine & Hazel’s anytime. ok bars
Hey thanks man, I really appreciate the advice.
Man, this blog is kind of sad. 4 fan posts in the last 3+ months? The Griz deserve better from their fans…..and from their owner, honestly. At least he is spending money now, although you can argue how wise the decisions have been…..
