Please explain the Mayo situation to me
O.J. Mayo has been rumored to be moved for Josh McRoberts of all people but seems to be a good shooting guard. Clearly he had his gambling indecent on the plane with Allen but why exactly are you guys trying to move him? From watching his defense seems acceptable (not Tony Allen levels but not he's certainly not Kevin Martin either ). He sports an acceptable .514 eFG%, gets some steals, defensive rebounds and assists while limiting turnovers and having a reasonable usage%. I've heard that you're even running him out there as your backup PG right now. Is he going to be too expensive to keep, is he a locker room cancer please let me know why he's (rumored to be) perpetually on the trading block.
(yes, I'm a TWolves fan)
Assuming he is on the trading block would you guys be interested in Luke Ridnour + your 2013 pick back for him? Luke costs $4mil this year and 4.3 mil next year so it's within the 150% rule and you guys would save a little in salary while acquiring a solid backup PG. The TWolves do this because they don't have to have a 2 guard rotation of Ridnour//Webster/Ellington/Barea ... 2 short PGs, a backup quality SG and a SF and should have the salary room to make a qualifying offer to OJ.

OJ Mayo has given ownership problems in the past…last season, he was suspended a couple games due to misconduct. The guys on the team are just now starting to get along with him. Ownership and Mayo haven’t gotten along too well. We actually had a deal at last season’s trade deadline, but merely couldn’t get the papers through in time.
Also, we’re deep when it comes to guards. We have young talent coming up, that couldn’t be hurt in snagging some on-court experience.
No doubt that OJ is a great, great player. He’s better than most guys at 6-man, and I don’t complain about his playing style at all. He’s a good basketball player. Ownership just got it in their head last season to trade him after all the problems he was causing – and though he’s definitely turned his antics around, I don’t think ownership has hopped off the idea.
So it's mainly ownership not liking him... seems like there's more to this story than is publicly known
Everyone heard about the fight on the plane but one incident doesn’t usually have teams looking to move a good player for Josh McRoberts. hmm I hope my wolves can work out a deal for him if your owners are going to do that.
Kahn is too stupid
Thats why the Pacers fired him. He’s a dick-turd and if OJ cant get along with management in Memphis he sure as hell wont with Kahn.

Being a Pacer fan!!!!!!
I’ve wondered the same thing. As of just a few days ago ANOTHER post came up on the pacers blog for Mayo. About us trading Tyler for OJ, or some kind of 2012 pick and Lance Stevenson. Yeah we could use him…he would blend well with Paul George, Darren Collinson, Danny, David West and George Hill.

Speaking of OJ
Sounds like Bird is going to make him a descent offer this offseason rather than trade away picks or players. Think I would have OJ rather than Eric Gordon if he continues to stay injured. Larry Bird loves OJ Mayo for some reason.

I can't explain it....
If OJ wants out, there’s always the Detroit Pistons and their crazy fans…
