Memphis Rookie Vasquez Eyeing Ankle Surgery
"Memphis Grizzlies rookie point guard Greivis Vasquez has an ankle injury that the team's doctors are expected to evaluate this week.
The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports that Vasquez, a 6-6 player out of Maryland, might need surgery."
What a blow to Vasquez. Is this a bigger blow to Vasquez or Memphis? Vasquez still isn't signed and could his hurt his stocks even more with Memphis? Or could this hurt Memphis in the long run because Vasquez won't be on the floor to transition into the game quicker?

The word here in Cincinnati is that Lance Stephenson's father and advisor were told before the end of the college season and before Lance declared, that he was promised by the Memphis Grizz the 25th pick in the draft. I found this interesting and I sort of hope it ain't true for your sakes.

In what I assume is the first time in the eight year history of the Memphis Grizzlies Hasheem Thabeet's basketball career, he finally looked like he belonged: he didn't overmatch his opponents, but he wasn't overmatched, either. It seemed, for once, he was playing with his contemporaries.
This doesn't necessarily sound like a ringing endorsement of Thabeet because, well, it isn't. It's also not meant to tear him apart, because again, that's not what I'm attempting to do. He simply looked like an average D-League player.
